Alternate Insights is owned and operated by Mary Ellen Smith.

 Background:

I am a Business and Executive Coach and Consultant.  I have several years experience in change management, process development and improvement, approximately two years experience as a Quality Assurance Manager, fifteen years experience as a Sr. Project Manufacturing Engineer, plus active duty military experience in the Air Force in the troubleshooting and repair of avionics systems.  I am a past Lt. Governor of Education and Training for District 5 Toastmasters.  As the second highest position in this 5100 member district, I provided direction and council to Division Governors, Area Governors, and Club Officers on educational and leadership opportunities in Toastmasters. I was responsible for the design, planning, organization, and conduct of successful district wide training programs, conferences, and other district events.

 I have received numerous awards in public speaking from Toastmasters and enjoy helping others improve their speaking, evaluation, and presentation skills.   

Education:

I have an MBA in Technology Management and a certificate in Coaching for Organizational Excellence from San Diego State University.

I am a member of  the International Association of Coaches, the San Diego Professional Coaches Alliance, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, American Society for Quality, and Toastmasters International.
